JD Edwards Business Analyst

ERP Business Analyst is responsible for delivering new functionality as well as managing daily support activities. He/She will be expected to coordinate all aspects of the relationship between Information Technology and various departments which includes, but is not limited to, the day to day operations, maintaining high levels of service, assisting to gather business requirements for new functionality, system design, execution and completion of initiatives or projects.

ERP Business Analyst is expected to have vast experience and be knowledgeable all E1-JDEdwards modules that are implemented (e.g. General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, etc).

The ERP Business Analyst must be able to provide problem anticipation and problem solving on an enterprise level. This includes, but is not limited to, solving break fixes and other production support issues in a timely and efficient manner. Coordinate across a global organization with communication on all levels (both oral and written). Must remain continuously aware of business application and infrastructure issues and act as a sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions.

Finally, ERP Business Analyst will be asked to act as a project manager for smaller projects. He/she should be familiar with and comfortable working within, all phases of the system life cycle.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

1. Business Analysis
Key Activities that support this KRA:
• Independently take ownership of an aspect, task or group of tasks on a project. Complete project tasks or group of tasks on or before agreed upon deadlines.
• Produce comprehensive documents outlining user specifications, business processes, functional specifications, test cases and system recommendations.
• Actively communicate technical and business aspects of work efforts to promote a team atmosphere.
• Lead design sessions for integration areas.
• Lead testing. Identify, track, report and resolve issues in timely manner.
• Manage time, utilize system tools and resources effectively, and provide timely status reports to management.
• Act as liaisons between business users and business processes within the Enterprise Software systems including but not limited to E1.
• Ensure fulfillment of the business requirements within the Enterprise Software systems including but not limited to E1.
• Tactical Planning in alignment with strategic business direction.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of tables, data and data relationships.
• Understand all interfaces, reports, set ups, versions, and modifications.
• Define role based security and resolve security issues.
• Review upcoming ERP releases/enhancements and recommend how they can apply to the business.

2. Project Management
Key Activities that support this KRA:
• Lead business and technical resources thru the system development life cycle.
• Produce and update project plan and supporting documentation to update stakeholders.
• Direct and coordinate work of other project resources as required to meet project goals.
• Communicate back to stakeholders status, issues, risks, etc.

3. Problem Solving
Key Activities that support this KRA:
• Research and solve break fixes and other production support issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Take data from multiple sources to act on or recommend solutions.
• Creative and critical thinking on process, security and/or system issues.
• Independently research and resolve issues with no direction. Be a problem solver.

4. Training/Documentation
Key Activities that support this KRA:
• Provide on-going training and documentation.
• Provide initial training and documentation to key users as new functionality is rolled out.
• Maintain existing documentation.
• Act as a source of training, direction, and guidance to less experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Occasional overnight travel.
• Knowledge of JDE Enterprise 1.
• Advance knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint and query tools (e.g. WebFOCUS, GL Tool).
• Working knowledge of MS project.
• Excellent communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills - able to work effectively with all user levels.
• Superior analytical skills are required.
